Libby Convicted. Scooter Violates the Law; George W. Bush Takes Care of Him

    by: Betsy L. Angert

The video speaks volumes.  The presentation is fun; yet, not funny.  Indeed, as you say Mister Bush, this is a serious matter.  Today we have a White House that cannot be trusted too keep their word, or in fact, they can be.  After an extensive investigation, years of probing, the courts convicted I. [Scooter] Lewis Libby of a crime against the State.  It was determined that this Former White House Aide is guilty of one count of obstruction justice, two counts of perjury, and one count of making false statements to Federal investigators.  Libby lied to a Grand Jury and to the Federal Bureau of Investigation examiners.

The I. [Scooter] Lewis Libby Story. Project for the New American Century

The life of I. [Scooter] Lewis Libby is a long, stunning, and sometimes inglorious tale.  However, this story for the most part remains a secret saga, a surreptitious legend, even though it is the subject of much scrutiny.  Today this chronicle continues.  After the esteemed adviser to the Vice President was convicted on criminal charges, and repeatedly told he must serve time in prison, regardless of filing an appeal.  President Bush reached out to his fine friend and said you have suffered enough.  Indeed, Bush Spares Libby 30-Month Jail Term.  Will wonders never cease, or will they ever begin.

Impeach. Support Increases for Censure of Cheney and Bush

Dennis Kucinich Move To Impeach V.P. Cheney Gains Support.

    copyright © 2007 Betsy L. Angert

The quiet little man from Ohio is making gains.  His mission is not yet accomplished; nor is his objective vengeful.  Honesty and integrity are his vision.  Congressman Dennis Kucinich does not think the President of the United States governs the people, or presides over the public as a ruler might.  Presidential Candidate Kucinich believes in a higher moral standard.  He has faith the person that holds the office of President has the power to bring peace to this planet.  The former Mayor also holds that the Vice President must act with honor.  He asserts neither in our current Administration does.  The Congressman claims as do others that are joining him in expressing their concerns, we must work to impeach this George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

    Updated, June 25, 2007
Each day the Bush/Cheney Administration entertains us.  They offer new twists and turns in what is seen as a ?comedy of errors.?  Possibly this latest report is classified as ?comedy of the absurd.?  This week it was revealed that Vice President Dick Cheney is not part of the Executive Branch.  Indeed, he is above the law, at least that is what the Vice President's office claims.

Memorial Day. Honoring War and the Fallen? Not Peace and Life

    by: Betsy L. Angert

    Sam Keen on War

    copyright © 2007 Betsy L. Angert

Granted on this a day en memoriam we might discuss the military record of our Commander-In-Chief.  We could quibble about his service and his unwillingness to sacrifice his life for this nation.  We might speak of the Vice President and his own hesitancy to enlist.  Perhaps a focus on their folly would be wise; however futile.  These men did as they did and do as they do.  We will not change that through our rants.  Our rage will not alter the world.  Reflection on the topic of war might help begin a transformation.  However, perhaps, contemplation, a conversation, and a concentration on peace are best.

Tillman. Lynch. Americans Weary of Lies and War

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Wed Apr 25, 2007 at 21:00:00 PM EDT

How they lied when Pat Tillman Died. YouTube.

The wars leave us all wary.  Soldiers in Afghanistan tire.  Troops in Iraq are exhausted.  The people in the states are fatigued.  Families and friends are drained.  America wants its soldiers to come home, alive.  Citizens cry when chatting with their Representatives.  They shriek when telephoning their Senators.  They write to the President.  Our countrymen spoke with their vote. yet, the combat continues.  The United States stays the course.  It is not the long days and longer nights of worry that weigh on the expectant public; it is the lies.

America's Angst. FBI Report and Patriot Act

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Fri Mar 09, 2007 at 11:39:03 AM EST

    © copyright 2007 Betsy L. Angert

For years I have wondered, is this a case of collective Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome?  What compels Americans?  What distracts civilians and Congress?  Why were we, are we, willing to forfeit the rights the founding fathers gave us, particularly the right to privacy?

I surmise the occurrences on September 11, 2001 were a shock to the citizens of this country.  We thought ourselves safe, isolated, and insulated.  Then, people witnessed their ominous Towers fall,  and together we, they, took a leap of faith.  We decided to believe in a false leader.  A man that maintained a record of incompetence throughout his life was allowed to continue causing calamity worldwide.  Americans allowed their President to change the conversation.  George W. Bush, a man that was selected for the post of Commander-In-Chief by the Supreme Court, not by the people, assumed a posture, and demonstrated his strength.  Frightened beyond belief, we as a nation adopted the fears of a former President's favorite son.  Mister Bush cautioned, 'Terrorism is all around us.'  With thanks to him, and his war in Iraq, now it is!

Nevertheless, in 2001, captured by angst, the citizens of the United States of America believed.  Congress trusted.  Thus, they passed ridiculous laws in the name of patriotism.  These regulations are more threatening than the terrorists ever were.  The Patriot Act looms large in the lives of citizens.  Yet, most walk around unaware of how their government now spies on them, legally and illegally, until today.

The Price of Addiction. Bush and War

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Please view the video presentation.  Do the Math.  What might The Cost of Iraq truly be?

Chapter and verse has been written on George W. Bush and his history of addictions.  None doubt his alcohol abuse.  The President speaks of this obsession often.  His own struggle to stop drinking may have endeared him to many voting constituents.  People in America can attest to their own struggles with alcohol dependency.  Some feel certain George Bush did his fair share of cocaine; perhaps, it was another drug of choice.  It seems marijuana was part of the party boy's bingeing.  Currently, and for the last twenty plus years our President has been clean.  George W. Bush is sober and possibly no longer addicted to intoxicants, unless we are speaking of war.

    Climate Change; An Impeachable Offense?

The Bush/Cheney Administration denied global warming for years.  Denouncing scientific evidence served this presidential pair and their business partners well.  Entrepreneurial enterprises prospered.  Profits grew as the icecaps melted.  Ocean waters warmed, so too did the hearts of Chief Executives.  Corporate coffers swelled.  Misters Bush and Cheney benefited.

Mother Earth Is Not Well. Her Climate Changed. Did Your Notice?

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Fri Feb 02, 2007 at 21:33:27 PM EST

(As the ice melts, and animals struggle to survive in polluted waterways, the climate changes and we celebrate Earth Day. Mother nature may not have psychically lost weight; nevertheless, her profile is altered. We, her children, are just beginning to notice. Perhaps, we did not treat her well. - promoted by Betsy L. Angert)

Please Ponder the Inconvenient Truth Trailer.  As you view this video, reflect on the trauma of today's tornado in Florida.

Please indulge me, allow me to make a comparison that may seem obscure to some.  Surely, the Bush/Cheney clan has yet to grasp what others and I have said for years.  Humans are harming the balance of nature!  We can choose to deny this.  Citizen of the world can see them selves as separate from nature; however, we are one.  A report released today by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change of the United Nations, validates this "claim."  I offer this analogy in hopes that a personal realization may make the point more profoundly.

Weight loss may be equated with global warming.  Those of us that have lost tonnage know that for years, months, or weeks few notice the pounds dropping away.  We are aware of the subtle changes because we choose to be.  When we work to be sensitive to the mind/body connection, when we work to honor each of these separate entities as one, we become aware of the nuances that surround change.

Bush Administration Belies "Land of the Free" ©

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Sun Jan 14, 2007 at 22:22:18 PM EST

The headlines scream.  America is not the land of the free or the home of the brave.  Moments ago, I came online and opened my Internet connection.  The New York Times banner read, Bush and Cheney Rebuff Critics of Iraq Troop Increase.  The caption below stated, what the public has long known and apathetically accepted, our Commander-In-Chief does not represent the people of America.  He does not care for its citizens.  Mister Bush ignores the founding fathers concept of "checks and balances."  George W. Bush governs as dictators do, with an iron fist.
President Bush insisted that he has the authority to send more troops to Iraq even without the approval of Congress.
I read further and found greater reason for my indignation.
"I fully understand they could try to stop me from doing it," he said in a taped interview for the CBS News program "60 Minutes" that is to be broadcast this evening.  "But I've made my decision.  And were going forward."

Bush Boasts of Military Service, Gerald R. Ford's ©

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Tue Jan 02, 2007 at 13:00:00 PM EST

This morning I stood in the kitchen and watched the ceremony.  Former President Gerald R. Ford was laid to rest.  Dignitaries spoke in memorial.  Of course, the current President of the United Sates was asked to address a mournful audience.  His words surprised me and did not.

Days earlier, at the first official commemoration of President Ford, there were no signs of George W. Bush.  Our nation's leader was busy planning his war.  Finally, he decided to fix a strategy in stone.  Sadly, the plan is surge.  This decision flies in the face of a Ford proposal released last week.  However, that matters not.  George W. Bush trusts that history will receive him well.  Bush will be considered steadfast as he "stays the course" regardless of success.

Terrorist Build A "Totalitarian Empire" From Within White House ©

    by: Betsy L. Angert

Thu Oct 06, 2005 at 16:07:00 PM EDT

Today, President Bush spoke to the nation.  He declared terrorists are intent on building ??a "totalitarian empire" of global reach.'  I muse, whose intention is this?  Actions demonstrate this is the goal of George W. Bush and his administration.

    • Please read and reflect upon, Bush Stresses Terror Threat and Urges Support for Iraq War, By Brian Knowlton, New York Times

Baby Bush and his battalion have stated this philosophy for years. Nevertheless, Bush Junior wants us to believe otherwise.  However, we know. The Bush base, neoconservatives revealed a desire to spread democracy, globally, long ago.

On June 3, 1997, ultra conservative extremists stated, "We need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order." They defiantly declared, "We aim to make the case and rally support for American global leadership."
